Two tabs do most of the work, and both count what has not happened yet.

How a forecast becomes a fact
One electric bill, picked out of a month of everyday transactions and followed from your estimate to the confirmed payment, then back into the month's total.
1You forecast it
Oct 5Paycheck+$3,300.00
Oct 7Rent-$2,400.00
Oct 11Electric bill-$142.00
Oct 20Paycheck+$3,300.00
Oct 25Credit card payment-$1,800.00
Oct 28Car insurance-$164.00
Your month in Cash is full of forecast rows: paychecks, rent, the card, insurance. We will follow one of them, the electric bill. Its amount is your best guess.
Cash
Forecast row Your future checking balance already includes it.
Spending
Projected This month's total already counts it.

The real charge syncs in from your checking account. Because it has now happened, you match it to the forecast row it belongs to in the Bank Inbox.
Cash
Your forecast row is linked to the bank transaction.
Spending
The Projected row is linked to the same bank transaction.

The estimate is replaced by the real amount. The electric bill is now a confirmed transaction, while the rows around it are still forecast.

This is every row from step 1 added together, not just the electric bill. Confirmed transactions count at their real amounts, the rest at your estimates, so you always see a complete projection for the month.

You see a full total on the first day. Each transaction you link, like the electric bill, turns a piece of the forecast into fact, so the total drifts from your estimate ($4,200) to what really happened ($4,310). Cash works the same way: the future balance firms up row by row.
Cash · AI Optimize
See what the forecast leaves above your floor
Cash holds the bills and paychecks you have entered for the months ahead. You set the lowest checking balance you want to keep, and Optimize works out how much of the forecast sits above that line, and when, without the forecast crossing it on any day. The result is a schedule of planned transfers you can act on, or not. It counts only what is in your ledger, so a bill you haven't entered isn't covered.

It is a projection, not a transfer. Each row is what your forecast shows above your floor on that future date, counting only the rows in your ledger. When the day comes you make the transfer yourself and match it like any other transaction. Run Optimize again whenever your bills or pay change, and the plan resizes.
You set the floorOnly what the forecast shows above your floor is planned. Cash stays above the floor whenever a later entered bill needs it.
You set the rhythmWhenever surplus is available, or weekly, monthly or quarterly. A date with no surplus is skipped.
You approve the previewNothing is saved until you review it. Past, reconciled and bank-linked rows are never touched, and it is one Undo step.
The same window can also replace future paychecks with the net pay saved in Federal Tax, and consolidate future credit card payments into one estimate per month. Casharchy schedules these as forecast rows; it does not move money. In the app, the plan runs to an end date you choose within the current year.

As a process · every path it can take
Read it top to bottom. Activity from your checking account reaches Cash through the Bank Inbox, where you match it to the forecast row it belongs to. Credit card purchases go straight to Spending. Changed your mind after step 4? Unlink sends the bank item back to the inbox and restores the forecast row, as long as the row is not reconciled.
Card purchases take a shorter pathThey never enter Cash. They go straight to Spending as pending, then posted. Cash only sees the payment to the card, and that category is excluded from spending totals.
Manual Spending rows stay in SpendingRows you type, paste as CSV or import from a statement never touch the Cash balance.
